Carved Wooden Serpent by DargonXKS Carved Wooden Serpent by DargonXKS
Approx. 11in long by 5.5in high.
Made from an old piece of pine lumber I've had laying about. Still needs more work, such as the other side and some smoothing and detailing.

This has been, and still is, a work in progress that is a couple years going now. The main reason is that I only work on it a little at a time. The other reason? I only work on it bits at a time cause I keep cutting myself lol. I've sliced my thigh, cut into the top of my thumb joint, and stabbed my index finger. Those last two hurt like heck, the slice on my thigh I didn't even notice at first. I was all, hey I cut my jeans oops, then oh no blood! Didn't ever really hurt that one.

So obviously I won't pretend to be any sort of woodcarver. It's all hand carved with the exception of some drilling to shape the mouth and the space in the body. I'm crazy and have done most of it with an exacto knife. The other side of the body still needs to be finished, but it kinda works as is.

Sorta supposed to be Quetzalcoatl, but could be any generic serpent creature.

Thanks. I love wood carving, I am just so painfully slow at it.

It's a lovely carving. I think it's great you can do that.

I think xacto knives are out to get us, whenever I change the blade on mine I never fail to stab myself somehow. X3 A pocket knife would probably work a little better. Not as flimsy and less chances for stabbing...no narrow points. :o LOL Great carving though! No pain no gain I guess? You should do this more often. With leather gloves just in case.
